Happy weekend!
City Creek is the most beautiful place on Earth. Adam and I were so excited to have been invited to preview the new mall last night. It was a perfect evening that started at 6:30 - We walked the new mall during sunset and enjoyed great food, drinks, live models, and a feast for the eyes.
I have to admit - I had goose bumps wandering around admiring everything the eye could behold. It's perfect. The store interiors were spot on. The best minds in the business came together to render these concepts in a new fresh way - J. Crew - as if it couldn't get any happier - was all on display in a new fresh palette. Natural floors, high gloss white doors with white walls and a stark contrast black wall behind the cash wrap. All the brass accessories were from Arteriors. A beautiful line of artful objects we sell here at the store. The neutral and natural surroundings let their clothing and jewelry shine - EYE candy!
Banana Republic opened a new concept store. Upon entering, you walk down a central corridor - seen here with the concentric circles applied to the ceiling and on either side were "closets" that are perfectly organized by casual or formal clothing in each area. Stacked, folded goods, and hanging. I'm going back to take notes for my own closet!
Sooo much to take in - I definitely have to go back soon. It's so stimulating to be surrounded by such beauty. Every one of your senses is engaged in some way. The creek that runs throughout the center of the mall makes the whole experience peaceful and easy - in the middle of the city against hard angles of all the buildings. What a concept! Looking up and seeing the Temple peer through the downtown cityscape was incredible. You just have to see it to believe it! I'm a believer!

Spring brings a want to refresh and renew! Out with the old in with the new! A whole new roomful of furniture would be the dream come true but it's not always the most practical either. There are small ways to freshen up a space with a few new items.
Introduce some fresh pillows to your space. Ones with color, pattern, texture or a fun print like this Thomas Paul elephant pillow will make a great impact. Having new pillows will give your sofa or bed a brand new look - and using a punchy color will make it sing like Spring!
Add a few new frames onto your entry console with photos or quotes that are sunny and bright! Loving these new striped frames we just got in!
Adorn your mantle with a bit of sparkle. These lovely mercury glass candlesticks are perfect all year long - the shine will brighten up your room!
Put some simple blooms from your local floral shop in Spring vases. Place in a windowsill or on a nightstand to freshen things up. Florals and greenery will always liven up a space.
Light up your space with a gorgeous new lamp. A patterned shade will shake things up a bit!
A few new accessories for the coffee table will be the perfect addition for Spring. Make them bright and happy! Can you tell we are loving stripes right now?
Add a garden stool as a little side table to your favorite reading chair or tuck in under a console or nesting tables. Add a pretty tray and your favorite book to complete the look.
There are so many simple ways to freshen up your space and the changes or additions can be small but happy!

We started working with a wonderful couple building a home in Colorado. Instead of any typical design, their goal was to create a Modern Prairie style home. This concept became such a breath of fresh air.
We originally received these exterior concept renderings of the home.
Step One: Create a seamless transition from the exterior vision, to interior finishes. From the kitchen and floors, to lighting and fireplace we wanted this home to be spot on.
We worked with them for several months with drawings, details, and specifying finishes. Here is a taste of this wonderful space, just completed!
Step Two: Create the same seamless transition in the furniture. This makes the space feel whole and complete. here is a little peak at what we are planning for the Living Room.
Because Modern Prairie is all about horizontal lines and elements we wanted to make sure and include varying heights in our furniture. This keeps the eye moving around the room. We wanted to accentuate the amazing windows by placing two very tall chairs in front of them. What a backdrop to walk into!
Stay tuned for final photos!

St. Patrick's Day is all about wearing green - even you room can wear green!
A green loveseat provides a pop of unexpected color in an otherwise neutral room with grays, blacks and whites. The kelly green surrounded with gold accents in other pieces glam things up.
A soft green tile contrasts nicely with the lavender and white dining room.
Use a geometric print wallpaper in a display cabinet to add that pop in your kitchen or dining room. Fill it with white dishes to keep the look clean.
Green walls makes a bold statement. Loving the monochromatic contrast of the matte walls with the high gloss lamps.
Create an unexpected pop by adding kelly green dining chairs to your kitchen table.
Green leather upholstery works perfectly in this dining room with the geometric black and white floor. Isn't that light fixture amazing?
What is your favorite shade of green to wear and add to your interiors?
New collections, installs, new ribbon, late nights and don't forget Scout – this week has inspiring and rewarding!

Entryway! We have all heard the phrase, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." This is true when we're interacting with people for the first time but today, I'm going to your homes first impression! THE ENTRY!
We've been working with a gal in California who is a doll. Cutest style ever, and when I first met her, my impression was that she was going to have a darling, young, and animated home! She was a good time and why wouldn't you reflect those traits in the space you live everyday?!?
We designed her Family Room and it came together so beautifully! But what you can't see in this image is that the entry sits right in front of this space. So what do we do there? What would be the perfect preamble to a space like this?
The only thing our client requested be in the space was a painting her father had done years before. We loved it, and thought it a great springboard for a great entry!
We began with a gorgeous gray high lacquered sawhorse console. This gives the casual, coastal feel but the high lacquer finish gives i t a unique element. A nice compliment with her Dad's stunning art! We then placed a large green glass lamp on the console. We loved the translucent color this brought to the room and how it felt like an extension the painting. We placed two glass display boxes on the opposite end and filled them with a carved bone lobster and crayfish! Who has this?! We fell in love and thought this would be a fun whimsical element that her kids would explore and guests would admire! We also placed a bowl atop the console to throw keys and all those random items that seem to collect in an entry. Most are probably asking themselves, "Where on earth am I going to put my umbrella?" Well, we solved that problem with the most adorable boot umbrella stand... You're welcome!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression and what an impression her home will make!

With spring on it's way, fresh flowers help brighten things up in these last few dreary days of winter. They can also inspire a facelift or remodel in our homes!
Pretty vibrant pinks inspire a bright color palette.
Love the calming shades of these succulents. Let it inspire a room or just one piece with different shades of pillows.
Muted shades of pink are very pretty and peaceful. Make a statement with your sofa or be more subtle and add the detail to your window treatments.
A bright orangey red... persimmon, flame, you name it. This is definitely a statement maker!
Neutrals - simple and elegant. This Thomas O'Brien room is a great example of how subtle is classic and beautiful.
Let your florals inspire your artwork. Keep bright colors contained in one place while letting the softer shades fill your walls and drapes.
Succulents bring so many beautiful colors, greens, blues, oranges. Let these inspire your room.
Named after the great Amelia Earhart, this beauty was inspired by the shape and lines of the airplanes. Isn't she amazing?

Here she is in the Oly showroom. So pretty! If it's just a dresser you are looking for, let's order the bottom piece for you! Silver or natural brass finish options are available.

What do YOU love about March?
We are so excited to have just picked up a new line that does mirrors and bulletin boards! They make a variety of sizes and have several finishes to pick from. The photo doesn't do either of these justice but they are both stunning. The mirror is 36" x 78", but it seems larger! The bulletin board is covered in burlap but could also be left just as cork.
Can't wait to get my bulletin board full of design and blog inspiration! It's looking a little bit bare right now.
Mirror: 36" x 78" - $2,565 Bulletin Board: 30" x 60" - $2,164
Use the floor mirror in an office or bedroom. It would be lovely in an entry or dining room!
Call or come in for additional sizes, finishes and pricing.
What a thrill it is to be published in this issue of Utah Style and Design. We loved working with Desiree Ashworth, the previous owner of the beautiful Gustavian-style home featured in the article. A few of my favorite details in the home are the intangibles. The calm feeling that exists in the carefully selected tones. This harmonious contrast between sunshine and water! (Sunshine and water = Combining the Belgium blue hues with the warmth of natural materials, will make the audience go weak in the knees!) The quality and authenticity is evident in the details... this definitely contributed to the "feeling" of the home.
We got to work closely with Desiree in the finishing stages of the home. Furniture, rugs, window treatments, paint and window seats. She came to us with her vision, having experienced that region of the globe first hand. If you love the home in the article, you'll love her blog, Decor de Provence! You'll be transported to another place and time... deep in the south of France.

Adding in some branches to that vase on your entryway will add life and color to the space! And its just that time of year when we are ready for some liveliness toward the end of winter. We just received branches galore! These are just a few of our favorites.
Take a peek at these beautiful hydrangeas! Perfect for a dining table and they require no water or care and don't die!
Here is one of our favorite rooms featuring branches:
So lovely on the mantle! And I spy a couple of the beautiful Marlena chairs from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
